About Us

The Amy Greaves School of Dance is an established school that has been running for over 17 years. The ethos of the dance school is to create a safe, fun and nurturing environment where students can develop and make outstanding progress. We offer a wide range of dance styles and students can participate in regular show work, achievement awards and other performing arts opportunities. We are so proud that many dancers go on to train at BOA, Kingston University, London Studios and many other great establishments. 




ELLIS JAY - TEACHER

Meet Ellis Jay, a dedicated dancer whose journey in the world of dance began at the tender age of four. Over the years, Ellis Jay has explored a wide range of dance styles, immersing herself in the beauty and expression of movement.

Her passion for dance has led her to participate in numerous in-house dance shows and festive performances, where she has not only showcased her talent but also blossomed into a confident and assured performer.

But Ellis Jay's journey doesn't stop at dancing herself – she finds immense joy in teaching and nurturing the next generation of dancers. With a warm heart and a patient demeanor, she delights in supporting young children as they discover the magic of dance.

For Ellis Jay, teaching is not just a job – it's an opportunity to inspire, guide, and grow alongside her students. She is grateful for the chance to develop as a teacher and looks forward to continuing her journey of sharing the joy of dance with others.

DAKOTA  - TEACHER

Introducing Dakota, a vibrant member of our dance community who has been dancing with Amy since the age of 10. For Dakota, dance isn't just about the steps – it's about the connections forged on the dance floor. One of her greatest joys in dance is making new friends and building lasting relationships with her fellow dancers.

With a passion for movement and performance, Dakota has participated in numerous shows and exams, showcasing her talent and dedication. But beyond her own achievements, Dakota finds fulfilment in helping others succeed. She takes pride in mentoring younger dancers, sharing the knowledge and skills she's acquired over the years to help them grow and thrive.

Dakota firmly believes that teaching is a two-way street – by helping others progress, she continues to evolve and develop as a dancer herself. Her commitment to both her own growth and the success of her peers exemplifies the spirit of camaraderie and support that defines our dance community. BECKY - TEACHER

​Introducing Becky, a dynamic presence at our dance school with a wealth of experience in the world of dance. Becky's journey began at the age of six when she immersed herself in the world of freestyle dance. Her natural talent and dedication propelled her to compete at a national level, earning her the prestigious champ status.

Driven by her passion for dance, Becky expanded her horizons by studying ballet and contemporary dance at Kiddiminister College. She further honed her skills and knowledge by completing a degree in professional dance development at Worcester University.

Becky's journey in dance has taken her to numerous stages, where she has mesmerized audiences with her artistry and skill. In addition to her performances, Becky has also lent her expertise to various dance schools and choreographers, sharing her passion and knowledge with aspiring dancers.

With her diverse background and unwavering dedication, Becky brings a unique perspective and energy to our dance community. Join us and be inspired by Becky's talent, creativity, and commitment to the art of dance.
AMY - OWNER & FOUNDER

 Meet Amy, the passionate force behind our dance school. Amy's journey in dance began at the age of seven, igniting a lifelong love for movement and performance. She immersed herself in all theatre subjects, honing her skills and nurturing her talent.

Driven by her dedication to dance, Amy pursued formal training and became a qualified dance teacher in the IDTA syllabus. Her thirst for knowledge led her to attain a BA Honours degree in Dance and Performance from Wolverhampton University.

Amy's expertise extends beyond the dance floor. As a trained secondary school teacher, yoga instructor, and level one counsellor, she brings a holistic approach to her teaching and mentorship.

With a rich performance background that includes iconic venues like Disneyland and the Royal Albert Hall, Amy's artistry shines through her work. She's been featured on BBC and entrusted as the choreographer for the esteemed Lighthouse Project.

For over 17 years, Amy has led her dance school with passion and vision. Under her guidance, the school has flourished, gracing prestigious stages such as Blackpool Tower and Sadler's Wells Theatre.

Amy's philosophy is simple yet profound: dance is for everyone. Her classes strive to cultivate a nurturing environment where students of all ages and abilities can thrive and excel. Join us and experience the joy of dance with Amy's expert guidance and unwavering enthusiasm.

OLIVIA - TEACHING ASSISTANT

Meet Olivia, a dedicated member of the Amy Greaves School of Dance, who began her journey with the school at just four years old. 

Her passion has led her to participate in various shows, exams, and eventually teaching. Olivia derives immense joy from teaching and helping younger students, enabling them to reach their full potential as dancers. 

She believes that everyone has the ability to excel as dancers and performers. Olivia hopes to inspire and guide younger students on their journey, promoting the values taught to all members of the Amy Greaves School of Dance: dedication, kindness, and resilience.



WILLOW - TEACHING ASSISTANT

This is Willow. She has been dancing at AGSOD since she was two years old. Her favorite lessons are ballet and rock 'n' roll, and she loves participating in shows and performances. For Willow, dance isn't just about moving to music; it's about the people she meets along her dance journey and her passion for performing.

Willow enjoys helping out in the younger acro class, remembering what it was like to be that age and loving the opportunity to assist others. She has made many friends during her time at dance.
REBECCA - TEACHER

Rebecca has been an actor, writer, director and teacher/facilitator for 18 years following graduation from The Birmingham Theatre School. During this time she has worked in touring theatre, created an award winning one woman show and played characters at venues such as Warwick Castle and Blenheim palace. She has taught drama and singing for PQA and Fame performing arts schools and Blue Orange Youth Theatre.

 She is also an associate artist for Stans Cafe theatre company and a Project Manager for The Play House, working extensively in schools for over a decade. Whilst acting jobs are few and far between these days whilst being a Mummy she loves teaching young people and helping them find creativity, passion and confidence. Rebecca saw Cats in the West End for her 7th Birthday and she’s been musicals obsessed since. She’s so excited to be part of Amy Greaves School of Dance.


MADDIE - TEACHER

Introducing Maddie! Maddie has been dancing for over ten years now, participating in countless shows and exams. She has a special love for contemporary as it provides the best opportunity to tell a story, connect to the audience and invoke emotion which is what she believes dance is all about. Her favourite thing in the world is being on stage, she is very excited to be joining the team and hopes to encourage passion for dance and a deep love for performance.

She has been a student of aerial silks and hoop for almost four years and believes the challenge of it is extremely rewarding and connects well to dance by increasing flexibility, strength and allowing more room for varied expression. She is so excited to teach these skills to younger students and hopes that they too experience an increase in confidence, develop a profound love for the circus and most of all, she hopes that her students have fun - after all, that’s what circus is all about.
